Scott Ackerman graduated Emory University in 1987 and Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1990 with distinction for completing his law degree in two years. While at Thomas M. Cooley, Mr. Ackerman was the assistant director for the school’s 60 Plus program where he represented elderly clients under the supervision of licensed attorneys in Michigan. Mr. Ackerman joined the Law Offices of Neil Moldovan P.C. in 2018.
Mr. Ackerman has focused his law career for the last 28 years in the fields of personal injury law, workers compensation law, no fault law and appellate practice. Mr. Ackerman is a trial attorney and has successfully represented his clients, negotiating settlements of millions of dollars in personal injury cases, including motor vehicle accidents, premises accidents, construction accidents and slip and fall accidents. In 2007 he was instrumental in negotiating a $10 million settlement for a pedestrian who was rendered a paraplegic when struck and seriously injured by a motor vehicle. Mr. Ackerman prides himself on his inter-personal relationships with his clientele and his zealous advocacy for his clients in the Court room.
Mr. Ackerman is admitted to practice law in the Courts of the State of New York and the Federal Courts for the Southern and Eastern District of New York. In his spare time, he is an avid bridge player who enjoys traveling and rooting tirelessly for his New York Jets who he hopes to see win a Super Bowl in his lifetime.
